As Nigerians had grown to love the international Starboy, Wizkid excessively because of the great achievements he’s been able to gain on the music scene both nationally and internationally, some fans began likening him to late Fela.
Sometime last year, this issue was up on the internet, and some even supposed that Wizkid had grown to outshine Fela Kuti in terms of music and achievement. But this was considered a disrespect, as the late Afrobeat legend is deemed next to none. Wizkid lightly addressed the issue back then but has reemphasized on it now, setting things right.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Hip TV, Wizkid described Fela as his idol, and as such, thinks he should not be compared to him. He once again showed his modest side by shutting down comparisons between himself and Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, despite the tremendous success he’s experienced in his career. Fans need to adopt this mindset too.
The singer thinks that putting his name in the same sentence as the Afro Beat legend is disrespectful to the late legend. If Wizkid has acknowledged that he’s not due to be compared to Fela, fans should now know better than try to do so
