POLICE RENEW APPEALS FOR INFORMATION ON THE MURDER OF 19 YEAR OLD KELVIN ODUNUYI IN LONDON

Police renew appeals for information on the murder of 19-year-old Kelvin Odunuyi in London

Over a month after the murder of 19-year-old Kelvin Odunuyi in Wood Green, London, detectives are renewing appeals for information.

Police in Haringey were called to Hollywood Green, High Road, N22 at 00:32hrs on Thursday, 8 March following reports of a shooting.

Armed police attended along with London Ambulance Service (LAS) and found the victim suffering from a gun shot injury.

He was taken by LAS to a central London hospital where he sadly died a short while later. A post mortem examination was held at Haringey Public Mortuary on Monday, 12 March and cause of death was given as a gunshot wound to the head.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the Archway area on Sunday, 11 March during an armed operation. He was later released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Officers from the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command continue to investigate.
DCI Luke Marks of the Homicide and Major Crime Command leading the investigation, said :

“Kelvin was a young man not yet out of his teens when he was ruthlessly gunned down, leaving his family utterly devastated and bereft. Enquiries have led us to believe that a pillion passenger on a moped that had mounted the pavement fired several shots in Kelvin’s direction before speeding off.

“It is vital that we identify the people behind this shooting, and would urge anyone with information about Kelvin’s murder to come forward.”
